The Old Ghan Railway

Australia is a big country but it is not the biggest. It is, however, the emptiest.
According to my 35seconds of internet research, Australia’s official population density ranks it right on par with Namibia and Mongolia and only just behind Greenland. Unlike any other country however, 90% of Australia’s population live on the East coast occupy less than 15% of the countries land mass. Take out the south and west coast and one is left with a very big, very empty block of land in the middle.
That – is the Australian Outback.
Putting it simply – if Zombies ever take over the world – this is where I am moving ☺
So here’s a photo of the old Ghan Railway taken along the Oodnadatta track, just south of Lake Eyre and north of Marree.
View large and, as always, thanks for looking!
