It was not the plan to end up at Tumalo State Park on this particular day, it was not even on my 'to visit list' during my holidays in Oregon. Driving without realizing that I have missed an intersection - it was still dark on a early morning - I all of a sudden reached a dead end somewhere in a forest. Checking my roadmap it all became clear and a kind of frustration came up. Without knowing what this park is about I decided to stay, grabbed my equipment and walked up a path aside of a river. In the progress daylight revealed the beauty of pure nature! Hiking further up for about an hour I realized how the temperature has dropped and as it felt very close to freezing point I figured that there could be a chance that the rainfall over night might have turned into snowfall. A few minutes later and some steps further up it became true what I have expected - snow has changed the environment into a beautiful scenery! My anger about getting lost en route was gone at this very moment! Sometimes bad experiences are turning very quickly into a nice and unforgettable one!
