Trapped steam beneath a river of lava accumulates a tremendous amount of pressure until it escapes in an instantaneous explosion of a lava, creating a one of a kind, airborne abstract. These lava bubbles are extremely rare, and are by far, my favorite aspect of volcanic activity to shoot, as you never know what you're gonna get... kinda like a box of chocolates. Well, not really. ;-)
