Above Double Arch
T Dingle - Los Angeles, Usa

The Milky Way as is shines brightly above the Double Arch rock formation at Arches National Park in Utah. Great night shooting beneath the stars with Aric Jaye and Bob Maynard. The fuzzy at the 1:00 position is the Andromeda Galaxy. Amazing how small it looks from here. However, it is approximately 100,000 light years from one side to the other. Therefore at 671,000,000 miles per hour, the speed of light, it would take 100,000 years to travel from one side of this galaxy to the next. Traveling at 80 mph, it would take us 95,747,716 years to cross it. That does not include travel time from our galaxy to reach that galaxy. Depressing huh!!!
