Rock Chameleon
Dylan Toh & Marianne Lim - Adelaide, Australia

Hancock Gorge, Karijini National Park. At the end of Hancock Gorge lies the famous Chute which is quite a sight to behold in the right light. Little do people know that what lies below is possibly even better but you can only safely access these locations with a guide. In the past however, daring adventurers used to make their way right to junction pool at the bottom without any specific gear other than bare hands and a daring spirit. The pool below is named Regan’s pool for the SES worker who was swept away in flash floods while trying to rescue an injured tourist during heavy rain. I guess when we take risks we need to consider that consequences that an adverse outcome might have on any other individual associated with us. For me, it’s my family I’m considering more than myself when I decide to pull back. Regarding this picture, if you’re pretty sure of foot and its dry, there really is minimal risk with this particular shot (if you can find me in it!) I’ve also been taking more images with me in it as I’ve been enjoying the new aspect of effective composition with personal interest in the image. I also try to make it as low key as possible as I personally don’t want to give the impression in any such image of ‘conquering’ nature. I’m not conquering anything but self doubt and demons in these images and invariably I’m just there to appreciate. Last upload for a while as we're heading of to South Island ! Hope to come back with some more selfies among the landscapes ;) [Essential Field Guide Ebook] [Focus 11 ebook] [Prints and Tutorials] [Facebook]
