At this morning i woke up in my tent around 5.30 a.m. It was cloudy. We had heavy thunderstorms the night before. Luckily not above us but we could see the lightning the whole night. I thought about turning around and sleep but somehow in knew i have to get up. When i grabbed my bag the first light was already breaking through the clouds. So i started to hurry up. At the end i was running as i knew where i wanted to go to take some pictures of this red / purple curtain that did appear from nothing. Unbelievable ... it was like a red spotlight. Never seen this in such a color before or afterwards. A gift of mother nature and a great start into another day in this awesome desert landscape in northwest Namibia.The grass is actually so grey/silver/blue as there was no rain in the last two years. One good rainfall and the grass turns into a green color within days. My recommendation: watch it on the black background.
