Having left after work on a Friday night we arrived at our destination just before midnight, after crossing rivers, moving boulders, backtracking and generally making our own track in the 4wd, we ate, set up camp, then set alarms for 4.30. I knew the Waning Gibbous moon at 88% was due to set at 5am, I also knew the sun was due to rise at 7.20am, this only gave me a small window of dark sky. I set up the 49 image 360 panorama and hurried it along. And this is the result! The brightness under the arch of the Milky way is where the moon set. To each side of the frame is where the sun was starting to warm the sky, you can actually see it to the far left. I'm not sure if it was the moon or sun that caused the strange rays on the right of the frame, I have never seen anything like it. There is no light pollution in this image from cities, this was shot in the middle of no where. I hope you like this. Please follow me on Facebook
