Spa Pool, Hammersley Gorge, Karijini National Park
I have a confession to make. I still [heart] landscape photography.
(read with light heart)
This is despite the fact that we seem to be a discordant group of cliques at each other’s throats almost as much as we admire each other’s work. Let’s put our talents together and take over the world ! (or maybe at least the cat images, that's a start :)
This is despite the fact that we are often the pot calling the kettle black. I relate to one story of making an accusation at another photographer for embellishing a caption without stopping to think that perhaps with posts like this I too, am trolling for attention (but hey, all for a good cause right?)
This is despite the fact the tall poppy syndrome exists more than ever. Is it no wonder that some of the tall poppies don their stamping boots to squash the axe wielding small poppies?
This is despite the fact that in the name of art, in the search for new realms of extremity, in the pride of presentation, in the spirit of competition, we seem to be driven to push boundaries of manipulation further against the public perception of our photoshopping selves. Art has no boundaries but public perception does and are we doing ourselves a favour by risking alienating ourselves into a niche genre that’s just ‘misunderstood’. (Awwww, poor us!)
I (Dylan) also [heart] Marianne because she stays clear of social media to do with photography and goes on her own business and produces images like this, our ebooks, our commercial interaction and is the real voice of everlook photography and not the potentially screen misinterpreted voice you are reading in this post :)
She has put out our new ebook which you can find in the link below !
