We had ridiculously good weather on our 9 day Patagonia trip in April 2015. There was one relatively windy afternoon and another day with a slight breeze. On most of the other days we had mirror lakes and temperatures one can expect of a perfect winter's day in Africa. On this morning, the skies didn't reveal much two hours prior to sunrise. When we arrived at the parking lot to Salto Grande falls, the signs of good fortune were clear - a soft red on the peaks and blazing pink on the eastern horizon. We rushed to Salto Grande and captured the best of the alpenglow light over the iconic rapids. We then headed to the shores of Lago Nordenskjold to capture the full colour reflected in the bay.
