I spent 5 days wandering around the The Bisti/De-Na-Zin Wilderness (pronounced Bis-Tie & Deh-nah-zin) near the Four Corners Region in New Mexico. You will not find water, toilets, or trails in this area, but it can be very rewarding from a photographic standpoint. Each day the skies were clear with 30-40mph gusts of wind. Each night the clouds moved in as the sun came closer to the horizon, but the sun peaked through and provided some incredible light on the vast landscape of hoodoos, petrified logs, and endless beauty.
This image was taken at the popular ‘alien eggs’ or ‘rose rocks’ or ‘whatever you want to call them’. These are very odd, sandstone formations that provided some interesting foreground opportunities.
