Cheers to the new year guys! 🍻 So happy to have spent the holidays with my family in Canada. Opted to celebrate Christmas in Banff National Park braving the -29C sub-arctic temps lol.
While most of the iconic spots are submerged in powdery snow during mid-winter, there are still areas that remain not frozen. Areas such as the popular Vermilion lakes and parts of the Bow River.
You’ll see photographers squeezing themselves on this spot as it is the only pool of water that's visible by the roadside. Decided to just ditch it and drove further, walked a bit and found huge reflecting pools, s curves all to myself lol. Ahh, the silence + connecting with nature on Christmas day is 👌. Stayed in that area until golden hour and decided to pass by the crowded spot on the way back while thinking of doing something different from an overshot location. Hence, the sunburst and a sundog bonus! Happy New Year! 🎉
