Into Thin Air
Dylan Toh & Marianne Lim - Adelaide, Australia

Annapurna South Nepal The title marks the dramatised version of the worst Everest disaster. I get the impression that at that extreme altitude, people's judgment was severely affected hence playing a role in the differing accounts from that day . Even at lower altitudes , such as just above 4100m from this spot, many simply don't tolerate the altitude. Marianne could not go past Thokla on the Everest base camp trip and we hoped that the Annapurna Sanctuary would be fine. Turns out that her sensitivities worsened in the 4 year gap between visits so we didn't stay here long before heading back down. If you go hiking up high, take care, the hypoxia not only does strange things to your body but can influence your decision making for the worse.
