I don't normally go out and take photographs in the middle of the day, the light is simply too bright. But Pinner was getting all fidgety and wouldn't leave me alone until I finally submitted to his wishes and met him at Lulworth Cove, a little after 1pm.
Creeping up on him sat in his car, I found him stuffing his face with an entire packet of Jaffa Cakes. Which is strange, seeing he is built like an aspirin bottle. Seriously, he must weigh about 7 stone and seeing he looks well over 7ft tall, his BMI must be a negative value. Anyway, we got in his car and drove, slowly, up and over the hill towards Durdle Door. In fact, seeing Matt drives a Skoda, it probably would have been quicker to walk - not to mention less embarrassing. By the time we got out of the car, the wind was howling. I mean really howling. It must have been at least 50mph and as we made our way down the hill and across the precarious ledge, we were almost blown into the sea. I was thinking about advising Matt to tie himself to the ground, such was my fear that his feather-like torso could have been blown into the English Channel at any moment.
Still, we got some pretty decent shots, before we bottled it and drove back to Lulworth for a pint. The weather turned grey, insipid even and I think we made the right choice.
