Wow, crazy night out there! We had another wonderful aurora display here in the northern Banff skies, but it is this feature, almost to the South, that got most of my attention last night: A rather odd-looking "picket fence" aurora shooting across the Milky Way. Of course it didn't look like this to the naked eye, but it's pretty close to what the LCD showed at that moment. Amazing the structures and colours the camera can reveal!
