Out shooting I’m always swapping between the incredible Schneider 28mm Tilt Shift and 90mm Tilt Shift and love both lenses equally. The 28mm is super easy to use and pin sharp throughout the aperture range and is fairly forgiving with focus, the 90mm on the other hand is a real tricky beast and has to be perfectly focused for optimum sharpness. I find I have to slow everything down and make sure tripod and camera are firmly positioned.
One of the first truths you encounter about Patagonia is that no two days are the same. Known for unpredictable weather, photography in Patagonia is a game of chance. But when you win, you win big. On this morning the peaks of Cuernos stand up and greet the sunrise with a fierce disrespect, casting shadows for miles over the landscape and in your mind. The mountains always have something to say no matter the conditions and leave you pining for more.
Next year the OOAK crew reverse our sell out tour of Patagonia, starting in El Chalten Argentina with an expedition to Paso del Viento to capture Mt Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre from the other side. Head over to our website for more details, only a few spots available.
Captured and processed in panoramic format, the only way to shoot landscapes.
