The Val d’Orcia, is a region of Tuscany, central Italy, which extends from the hills south of Siena to Monte Amiata. It is characterised by gentle, carefully cultivated hills occasionally broken by gullies and by picturesque towns and villages. Among these hills, the morning fog is often a visitor, more appreciated by photographer than other people i think. This shot was taken at the famous Belvedere point, located in street beetween san quirico d'orcia and Pienza. I stayed in val d'orcia three days and every morning i waked up at 5 a.m to shoot the sunrise but the first attempts were not lucky, with no fog and no golden light. The last day the conditions of weathher improved and the light and the fog created a perfect atmosphere. I was very lucky because only the week before i decided to change my boocking and stay one day more ( I could have been one of the hundred of photographers, with me the first two mornings, who didn't take the shoot they wanted). Hope you enjoy it, criticism and comments are welcome :D
