The Rio De las Vueltas (River of Curves) braids a path down the glacial valley below Mt. Fitz Roy and the Patagonian ice field. When I searched out this viewpoint I hoped that evening sky colors would be reflected in the curves of the river. When it actually happened I was excited that it was more beautiful than I had anticipated. The serendipitous location of the crescent moon made the scene even better. The wind was ripping, as it almost always does in Patagonia. Anyone who has photographed there knows how challenging it can be to get a sharp image when shooting longer exposures. In this case I was able to shield my camera behind an embankment and wait for a slight lull.
