Over the course of an hour or so I photographed clouds coming and going over these spectacular spires and peaks in a remote region of Northern Canada after a storm, and I put them together in this rendering which depicts their ragged and weathered forms (at 350mm). I have visited here many times, but seldom from this perspective above. The last time I did, I took the self portrait I have here on this website from the opposite side of the peak in the background.
These peaks speak to me of great strength and beckon me to live life. They emerge victorious from the greatest of storms. I wanted to make an image that conveyed what this incredible place means to me, looking from through within the clouds at something great.
