Devils Horns
Rod Trenchard - Taree, Australia

A very simple image this time. I love a simple comp with solid lead lines. I was shooting with my brother from another mother Scotty on the back side of Black Head Ocean Pool when I took this image. I had just gotten my Sony and I was putting it through its ISO paces and I was noticing some greenish hues in the sky. Scotty was shooting a timelapse of a lovely sunset. I yelled out “Hey Scotty, I think I am getting some airglow”. Of course Scotty didn’t believe me and trotted over to check it out. I showed him my LCD and in typical Scotty form he told me how useless a shooter I am and to stop smoking crack. I reminded him that my body is a temple and very crack free! . Anyway I kept shooting and the green got stronger and stronger. Scotty was working on a day to night lapse, I was convinced it was airglow and said to him again about it. In the end he stopped his lapse to check his camera……. No green in Scotty’s camera. It was about then I realised that the LCD sucks in the dark on the Sony. So it was a successful shoot because A.I learnt something about my camera. B. I got some great images. C. I wrecked another Scotty Mcadam “Prolapse”
